Introduction The data that has been included in the study is high school longitudinal. The categorical variable that has been integrated into the study is the type of school while the continuous variable is the number of year science teacher has taught high school science. The categorical variable includes two groups that include public, Catholic or other private as the group variables measured on an ordinal scale where the values 1 and two that have been assigned do not have a significant impact since they are representative values. Problem statement The problem that these variables can help solve is to determine if there is any difference in the number of years science teacher has taught high school science between public and private schools. Appropriate visual display A box plot will provide a better representation of the data by displaying two different box plots for both public and private schools for better visual comparative analysis. The boxplot analysis provides a better representation of the data where it is easier to visualize and conclude that teachers who taught science in Catholic or other private schools have spent more years teaching science in high school that is slightly more than ten years. The public schools have relatively lower average number of years teaching science in high school. From the analysis, it is also clear that there are no outliers that mean that there is an even relative distribution of some years spent teaching science in both public and private schools. The social change, in this case, would be to develop an understanding of the existing difference in retention years among Catholic and other private schools. This will be to ensure that there are better strategies, which will be incorporated in ensuring that there is a greater commitment among teachers by implementing important factors that will be highlighted which influence a higher retention years. Teachers who are satisfied within a given work environment tend to have a higher level of motivation where learners can be effectively be taught and understand the concepts due to high-level motivation among teachers.
